The New Captains drive in in style
On Saturday the new Captains: John Topping , May Burn, Simon Bottomley and Dan Pedlar took to the first tee to drive in for the 2016 year. Congratulations to all four of you for fantastic drives under the pressure of the watching members.
May we wish you all the best for the coming year.
Drive In Report from David Bartlett Captains' Drive-In 2015
As I went round the clubhouse bar, men's changing room and carpark I found that everyone responded very cheerfully to my requests for contributions to the Captains Drive-In Sweep - and gave very generously. What I had expected to be a dull task became a pleasure. I guess that over the years John Topping and previous Vice Captains have trained everyone up for this and people know what to expect…
What was special for me was the openness and sense of inclusion that everyone showed in their desire to support our club - although I have to say that on each and every occasion I suffered a certain amount of challenge and banter before I was given any cash. I met some new faces and those that are newer members were all without exception very happy to be included in the club and playing golf on our course.
In short - there is a great sense of membership and team spirit at Brampton Park.
In total the four Captains drove 843 yards - and there were only two winners with that exact yardage.
Well done - George Nichols and Kevin Wright who each win £155.75 . £311.50 now goes to the Captain's Committee funds.
Finally a word of thanks to June Cowper for her help and encouragement.
Thanks everyone,
David Bartlett Vice Captain

High quality outerwear a must for winter golf |
Are your shoes fit for the winter months? |
| There are a number of excellent options within Mizuno's irons range, and with the brand's fitting cart we can fit you with the irons that are right for your game. Ask the team about a fitting and we'll be only too happy to explain how things work. |
| Switching to a yellow ball in the winter is not a bad idea, it will certainly save you from losing so many balls for when you stray off line and when the light is fading. Srixon's AD333 is an excellent option; give it a go and see how you get on. |
