We in the Pro Shop would like to wish you all a Happy New Year and best Wishes for your golf in 2016. This is the first newsletter of 2016 and is a fully packed edition. 

We would like to welcome Adam Morley to the Pro Shop team which yes means we now have two Adams! 

Adam's Bio 

Hi, I am looking forward to starting my new role in the pro shop with Alisdair and the team. I started to play golf about 6 years ago and currently play off 6. 

In the last two years I studied at Lee Westwood Golf School improving my academic qualifications as well as improving my golf game. 

Since finishing in June I spent around 6 months caddying on the European Senior Tour, which has given me a great insight to a professional's life on tour. I am excited to be working in the pro shop now with the view to start my PGA in October this year.

Winer Bash - 16th December 

With the course only open to 16 holes it was tough to get a really good score going, however that's exactly what Ricky Bleasdale managed to do in this week's Winter Bash! He was in first place with 38 points, in second place with 36 points on countback over Keith Curr, and Nick Lynskey was Kevin Cartlidge! There were also only 3 two's on the day, these came to Barry Bates, David Smith and Peter Gutteridge, each have had their accounts in the pro shop credited with £16.33 per two! Well done to Ricky and of course to everyone that took part!

Monthly Medal - 19th December 

The winner of the division 1 medal was Harry Bailey with a gross 78, nett 69. Winning the division 2 medal with a score of 87, nett 74 was Nick Pedlar and winning division 3 medal was David Ives who had a score of 90, nett 74. There were 4 two's on the day, Ian Robinson, JDW Davies, Daniel Pedlar and Harry Bailey, each have been credited with £4.75 in their pro shop accounts. 

Xmas Spirit Scramble - 20th December 

In first place with a brilliant score of 55.375 was Kevin Cartlidge, Mark White, Jonathan Sharples and Simon Burns. In second place was Ian Robinson, James Taylor-Alford, Simon Cunnell and Mick Ford who together they scored 56.5. In third place scoring 56.75 was Dan Simson, Mike Regan, Brian Thomas and John Davy. There were 4 eagles in total, the winning team had 2 eagles! The second place team had 1 eagle, and the third place team had 1 eagle. Each player received £5.75 per eagle!! Well done to all the winners.

Winter Bash - 23rd December 

This winter bash attracted a fantastic entry of 68 on the last competition day before Christmas. Scott Mccaulay won with a great 41pts closely followed by Alan Ahern and Harry Bailey with 40 pts and Colin Allison, JDW Davies and Chris Cuthbert all with 39 pts . There were 11 twos each receiving £6 credit in the shop, Wayne Price, Scott Mccaulay, Iain Mcdermott, Mike Brooks, Paul Boothman , Harry Bailey, Ron Cowper, Steve Kesseler, Alan Ahern, Joe Zarate and Bevis Moynan.

Boxing Day Bash 

The Boxing Day bash was won by Mo Poole and Doug Poole with a score of 40 points and coming in second place on countback were Gubby Panesar and Barry Bates. There was only 1 two, so well done to I Robinson/K Whitehall who both had £6 credited to their pro shop account. Also congratulations to all the participants.

Captains' Bank Holiday AM-AM - 28th December 

Winning on count back with a score of 91 was Adam Longford, Alan Ahern, Ray Vaughen and Steve Nokes. In second place also with 91 was the team of Steve Pinner, Mike McFadyzean, Roger Valentine and John Tellett. There were 14 two's!!! In no particular order, Tony Gentile, Mike Wallis, Greg Wills, David Easter, Dan Stephens, Mike Dunn, Doug Poole, David Bartlett, Roz Irons, Mick Ford, Darren Hibberd x2, Richard Ross and Lyn Griffiths. Well done to everyone that took part.

Mid-Week Medal - 30th December 

The weather was very breezy for the Mid-Week Medal held between Christmas and New Year. That did not deter Neil Pedlar who returned a fantastic nett 71 edging out Mike Marker nett 72 with James Ballentine 3rd on nett 73 Well done to everyone battling round and special congratulations to the twos winners Ray Miller ,Kevin Paul, Ross Starkey and Peter North who all got £9.75 credited to their Pro Shop Account.

Hangover Greensomes - 1st January 

There was a good turnout for the first competition of the year, in first place winning on countback with 41 points were Darren Hibberd and George Jackson. In second place was Brian Fett and Nick Miller. There were 6 two's Brian Fett/Nick Miller, Phil Rogers/Hilary Rogers, Owen Davies/James Rowe, Ann Norman/Dave Norman, Kay Osborne/Terry Osborne, Richard Scott/Mike Dunn. Each player got credited with £3 to their Pro Shop Account.

Captains 4BBB - 3rd January 

In first place with a brilliant score of 46 points were Mark Emerson and John Tellett. In second were Ann Norman and Dave Norman who scored 44 points. And coming in third place on countback with 43 points were Simon Chapman and Joe Zarate. They were 6 pairs with a two, they were Simon Chapman/Joe Zarate, Harry Bailey/Alan Wood, Adam Steel/David Creek, Gubby Panesar/Ian McDremott, Roz Irons/David Bartlett and JDW Davies/Kev Cartlidge. Well done to all the participants.
