Congratulations to Mike Dunn and David King on winning with a great score of 47 points in bitterly cold conditions. In second place with a score of 44 points was Rodger Valentine and John Tellett, followed by Mike Percival and Steve Tomkins with 43 points. 8 Pairs had two's on the day and they have all had £4.12 added to their account in the proshop. Well done to John Davy, Vince Davies, Iain Munro, Dave Ives, Mike Dunn, David King, Brian Fett, John Newton, Pam Lammiman, Richard Scott, Alan Wood, Harry Bailey, Keith Curr, David Kelsey, Collin Allison and Fay Allison. Well done to everyone that braved the weather.
Next week sees the beginning of the Ladies and Seniors group coaching. There is not long to go so be sure to put your name down as there are limited spaces. This is a great offer at only £5 per session and a fantastic chance to improve all areas of your game whilst enjoying the social side of the game as well. There has already been some great responses about the sessions that are available to both the Ladies and the Seniors, we look forward to seeing everyone there.
Just over a week ago Alisdair and Adam M went down to Titleist to be trained on custom fitting wedges. This was a great experience to see the great method Titleist use when fitting wedges which has allowed us both to develop our knowledge of the fitting process and the NEW SM6 wedges.
Whilst there we were able to hit some of the new clubs and both Al and I were very impressed with the new wedges and changes that have been made. The main development in the SM6 compared to the SM5 is that the CG spot (Centre of Gravity) has been moved backwards or forwards depending on the loft of the club to make the gapping between all of the clubs more consistent.
This is a great new design that will enable you to hit the CG Spot every time meaning you hit that all important number.
Titleist SM6 Fitting Day - 5th March
On Saturday we had Paul Wharton from Titleist come over and custom fit some of the members for the new SM6 wedges. Despite the terrible weather the afternoon was a great success with some fantastic feedback about the new wedges. Many of the members who got fitted were amazed by the difference between the SM5 and the SM6, mainly down to the new design of the CG spot.
As we can see Al was also enjoying the fitting experience and has since been having many thoughts about different wedges.

Picture this…
Your ball bouncing through the club car park, causing significant damage! Cars can be easily repaired at a price, but the situation could be a whole lot worse if you strike a fellow golfer, or passer-by. We want our members to be covered against such perils – and there are many more, such as theft and loss of golf club subscription - so speak to us about getting covered with Golf Care.
