Kind words written by Lady Captain May Burn:
I am very saddened to announce that we lost a true lady within our ladies section. Betty Anderson suddenly passed away and while there of some of our newer section who might not have met her.... you have. She epitomised the person who you would meet on the first tee as strangers but walk off the 18th as friends.
Joining the club in 1998 with her husband Noel, Betty was a very kind, honest and true supporter of Brampton Park. They have both been true servants of the club. Golf unites us all and in times like this it is never so pronounced.
Our thoughts for now are with Noel and their daughters. I know you will join me in offering our sincere condolences. I leave you with a few words in memory of Betty.
What is the fascination with this game? Is it the outdoors - the green fairways, the blue skies, the water and trees, the feel of the breeze across our faces. Is it the friends with whom we play - their companionship, their encouragement, the conversation between holes, the silence as we wait our turn? Is it the game - where we strive for perfection, the flight of the ball, the long putt that drops. We know it is all of these, the harmony, the friendship and every once in a while, lives are touched by more than just a game.
