Cobra Demo Day
On Monday afternoon we held our Cobra Demo Day which was a great success, James brought along the Trackman and latest Cobra equipment for people to try.
We all know that custom fitting is the way forward and helps to bring consistency to your game, something we are all looking for
Cobra equipment really is fantastic value for money and we have a great selection in the pro shop, so don't worry too much if you missed out on the demo day we can still provide a full custom fit experience.
Keep your eyes peeled in the newsletter for more demo days over the summer months here at Brampton Park.
Mixed foursomes championship
Saturday 7th June saw the 2014 mixed foursomes championship which for this year had been extended to 36 holes.
50 members entered and despite a warning of severe storms the weather was kind and play got started at 0800 for the first round and after 18 holes the leaders in the club house were Ross Irons and David Bartlett who had a small lead over Kay Osbourn and Ray Stonnell.
The final 18 holes commenced in lovely weather conditions and again some very good scores came in. June Cowper and Ray Miller came in with a 69 which was the best round of the 36 hole competition but their first round let them down and they ended in 5th place.
Ross and David Bartlett ended the second round with a net 76 giving them a total of 146 which at the close of the competition placed them in 4th.
Third place went to Amanda Rawson and Peter North with Kay Osbourn and Ray Stonell taking second place after taking a 7 on the 18th hole and ending one shot behind the winners Yvonne Palfrey who totalled a score of 143 for the 36 holes. Well done to both of them for some excellent golf.
Together with guests the players attended the evening meal and presentation and thanks must go to Rory and his team for the excellent meal.
Having upgraded this event to a 36 hole championship to conform both with the men's and ladies foursomes championships all those who entered were very happy with how the event went and thanks must go to the Ladies Committee who took charge of the event, and in particular to Sally Palmer and Corrine Everett for their excellent work in making the event a huge success.
It was decided when changing the championship to 36 holes for 2014 that this would be evaluated after the event as to how the Club would proceed in future years and I would urge all members who took part and those who decided not to enter due to it being changed to 36 holes to make their views known to the Ladies Committee and the Men's Handicap and Competitions Committee as to how the Championship proceeds in future years.
