Lady Captain's Day
There was a Scottish theme to this event for 2014.
I would like to say thank you to Ladies Vice Captain Nell and the Ladies' Section and to everyone who helped to make Lady Captain's day a huge success and a joyful day for all.
From the first skirl of the pipes played by George Jackson, a member of the men's section, to the final strains of the dance music, it was a most enjoyable day. It included a fun photo call at the first tee followed by sunshine golf and good competition.
At the 9th green the golfing ladies were piped to the Gazebo for refreshments. There was Pimms and an exquisite selection cakes made by the ladies' section for the occasion. It was served by volunteers from the men's section
The excellent evening meal was followed by the Prize giving. I was then presented with a superb Snooper Golf System which the ladies had clubbed together to give me. I am sure it will be amazing once I have got the hang of it. Thank you very much.
Finally Fun Scottish dancing took over. Everyone enjoyed it and there was much hilarity.
I would like to thank all the ladies for the wonderful gifts and to Nell for her kind words. I will always treasure the memories of this fantastic day.
I am very lucky to be the Captain of a lovely Ladies' Section.

Ladies Foursomes Championship
The ladies foursomes championship stroke play competition was closely contested with the first round having 5 pairs within 2 shots of each other. However, after the second round there were only 3 pairs in real contention and with a very close contest the result was Corrine Everett and Anne Norman in third place with 145, in second was Sally Palmer and Yvonne Palfrey with 144 and in first place with an excellent 141 was Karen Cox and Mo Poole.
The competition was followed by an excellent early evening supper and presentation.
