Masters Sweepstake After a fantastic week of golf at The Masters Patrick Reed won his first major in style, just beating his fellow Americans Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth by 1 & 2 shots. Reed had to withstand some late pressure from Fowler and Spieth as they both made clutch birdies down the stretch to push Reed all of the way to the 18th hole. Now the Masters has finished we are pleased to announce the winners of this year’s Masters Draw are as follows: - Patrick Reed – Brian Shepherd - £100
- Rickie Fowler – Mark White - £75
- Jordan Spieth – Gubby Panesar - £50
- Jon Rahm – Mike Dunn - £27
All winners have had their accounts credited in the pro shop. Thank You to all who entered and best of luck for next time.

Ladies Anodata Knockout Brampton Park Ladies went to Lakeside Lodge on Friday 6th April to play in the preliminary round of the Anodata Knockout. This competition replaces the Mail on Sunday. We had to forfeit the home advantage due to hole closures at Brampton but our ladies were not going to let a little thing like that deter them. I am pleased to say we were victorious winning 4 and 1. Thank you to the team and their caddies. The team being Kay Osborne, May Burn, Karen Large, Sally Palmer and Shirley Osborne.

Golf can be a frustrating game at the best of times, but incurring a penalty stroke when you’ve accidentally done something wrong seems very unfair, especially when that one stroke could be the difference between getting a handicap cut or not. |
| Current Rules Under the current Rules of Golf, if you accidentally nudge your ball while addressing it you incur a one-stroke penalty and must replace it (18-2). The only exception relates to if it is accidentally moved in the process of marking it. In this case, it must be replaced and there is no penalty (20-1). New Rules from 2019 The new proposed rule (13.1c) states there will no longer be a penalty for accidentally causing your ball to move on the green and you must replace it on its original spot. |
