Men’s Club Championship 07/07/18 - 08/07/18
This year’s Men’s Club Championships could not have fallen on a better weekend here at Brampton Park. With the course in brilliant condition but proving a good challenge for the members Mark King was the early leader with a fantastic score of gross 68 -3. His closest challenger was Dan Stephens who shot a very respectable +1 gross 73 followed by Owen Meeds with a gross 73 in third place. Mark King was also leading the nett scores with a brilliant nett 63 and sitting in second place after day one was Alan Murray with a nett 68.

Day two started very much the same as day one, brilliant course conditions, beaming sunshine and all to play for. Day two’s leaders with a gross 74 was Jody Greenall and Owen Davies, closely followed by Owen Meeds with a gross 75. For early leader Mark King it wasn’t quite to be as the second round didn’t reach the heights of day one. The overall winner with scores of 73+75 = 148 was Owen Meeds who came out on top by two shots from Jody Greenall who had 75+75=150 on the weekend.
Very well played to everyone who participated both days, all of the comments about the course were fantastic to hear and good luck for all the future events.
Over the course of the weekend 23 players had twos, well done too Dale Barham, Tyrone Allan, James Wise, Simon Rose, Sam Hindmarsh, Kevin Wright x2, Dan Stephens, Owen Meeds, Adam Steel, Ron Cowper, James Taylor Alford x2, Andrew Kennedy, Brian Thomas Alan Murray, Sean Trigg, Larry Barnes, Greg Wills, Jack Miles, Jody Greenall and Dennis Lea who all received £6.43 on their Pro Shop account.

Playing golf in the sunshine is something we all love, but it does have its downsides when bright light compromises your view. This is why Oakley offers such a great range of eye-catching, golf-specific sunglasses to help your game. |
Don't put up with squinting Trying to track a drive into low sun is just one problem summer golf can create. It also becomes more difficult to pick an aiming point and to read greens when bright light disguises subtle contours. One eyewear option we love thanks to its cool frame style you can wear off-course is the Oakley Targetline (pictured here). It comes with the option of Prizm golf lenses that enhance clarity and maximise contrast to give you better depth perception and make slopes easier to spot, as displayed in the image above. |
