Pam is Master Of Brampton A huge congratulations to Pam Lammiman who won The Masters with a great score of nett 69 on a horrible, wet and windy day at Brampton Park.
By her own admissions Pam has not had the golfing year she had hoped but that has all changed now. By winning the masters she will be exempt into it forever!!
In second place with a nett 70 was Simon Rose which capped off a very successful year for him. In third place was Ray Stonnell, nice to see Ray back on the podium! The event was topped off by a fantastic evening at BPGC for presentation evening.
There were 3 twos on the day, each two was worth £22.33! They were made by Pam Lammiman, Paul Sharp and Denis Lea.

Coronation Foursomes Grand Final - 24th September - Eden Course St Andrews To reach the Grand Final we had battled through the club round of the competition and then the Area Final at Lutterworth against 91 other pairs. The reward was to play against 15 other area finalists on the Eden Course at St Andrews. We packed our bags and flew to Edinburgh, in time for a practice round on the Eden Course. The bunkers were huge, the fairways undulating and the gorse thick! A stiff breeze added to the challenge. A plan for the final was hatched…avoid the bunkers and the gorse! At a drinks reception we got to know the ladies from the other 15 areas of the U.K who had made the finals. We were drawn to play in the 5th group, at least we weren’t first off the tee. Competition day was a great experience. Whilst we didn’t manage to play our best golf, we enjoyed the opportunity to represent Brampton Park and play on such a famous course. |
|
The whole experience was completed with a presentation dinner where key lady members of the R&A were invited. One of the aims of the R&A is to encourage more women to take part in golf and in the Coronation Foursomes in particular. We will be trying hard to qualify again next year. Caroline & Diane |

A day to remember from Callaway
On Thursday 4th October Courtesy of Callaway Golf myself and Al had been invited to the lovely Wisely Golf Club for a prize lunch, 3 hole playing assessment followed by an hours lesson with coach of the moment Denis Pugh.
We met with for lunch and had an hour to pluck Denis’ brain over his top star Francesco Molinari, the Ryder Cup and his endless wealth of knowledge.
He also questioned myself to gain an understanding of my game and what I want to achieve. On the on course assessment I was able to par all three holes as Denis interrogated and course managed me through the testing holes as did my caddie Al.
The lesson in the amazing Wisely facilities flew by with a tweak here and there with effort to try to make the changes permanent and cause a lowering of my handicap.
I look forward to the future with many thanks to our very own Owen Davies at Callaway. Denis and the wisely and also Al.
So much knowledge and not enough time, we could have chatted all day!

Do you need new spikes? Winter brings with it rain, which makes the ground beneath your feet softer and more slippery. If your spikes are worn or even missing, keeping a stable base during your swing will be much harder and you'll be more prone to slipping. To avoid destructive shots like these, come in-store and take advantage of our Shoe MOT promotion, where you can get new spikes fitted for half price! |

Sometimes it's nice to reminisce about the good times. When it comes to golf, the days of persimmon woods, small clubheads and hitting balls which were hard as a rock are long gone - but it can help to take a trip down memory lane to remind us of just how much technology has developed, particularly in the case of drivers. |
Time tunnel
Take TaylorMade for example; you might have been lucky enough to own its iconic r7 Quad driver way back in 2004. The r7 was memorable for introducing the then-revolutionary concept of changeable weights in a driver, which was a massive shift from the conventional 'one weight fits all' approach. The r7 Quad is a classic club, and is certainly remembered with fondness. Fast-forward to the present day and TaylorMade has released its most technologically advanced driver to date in the form of the M3. The M3 really shows just how far we've come in terms of moveable weights, with a Y-Track feature that allows golfers to adjust their settings for optimal trajectory, maximum forgiveness, or less spin. So, whilst it is nice to think about your first ever driver, it's probably time to get up to speed with the latest models such as the M3. Who knows? Maybe in another 10 years time, you'll be looking back on the M3 with as much fondness as the r7 Quad! |
