Xmas Spirit

This weekend see's the return of the Xmas Spirit, make sure you get your spot on the tee sheet in time to have a game and take part in this competition which is weekly. Please see attached the brilliant poster that Chris Cuthbert has put together to answer any questions you may have on the event.

The last weekend in October saw the final men's match against Wellingborough on the Saturday and the men's v the ladies match on the Sunday.

The weather was kind to us again and on Saturday the opposition brought a good team of scratch and 'A' team players to Brampton and for the third year this match has been in the programme, they proved too good for us. However we did manage a half point in the last match and the home players Adam Longford and Steve Nokes who had never been behind were held to a half after the opposition holed a birdie putt on the 18th green. All the opposition thought the course was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed the day and many of their low handicap players whose first visit to Brampton was today told me that they had been told how good the course was and their experience today lived up to that.

On Sunday the much awaited men's v ladies match took place and 10 groups took part in a 4 ball better ball match and after some very good games the men's team won 9 matches to 1. Thanks to all who played in this match which took place in good humour but also in a competitive manner.

Thanks to all members who have supported the match's this year and to our vice captain for his organisation including his humorous emails which are the talk of the county and best of luck Chris for next year.

Next week we see the culmination of the Captain / Pro event and at the end of November we have the last Captain' Project event which is the St. Andrews Day competition which is now on How Did I Do for members to sign up for.

Men's Captain

Last Tuesday I was asked along to a Bridgestone Ball fitting at Gog Magog courtesy of Golf Shake and Owen Davies, It was a great experience and a brilliant opportunity to find out a bit more about how a ball fitting works and what balls can help your game. It was a very interesting experience, and I learnt a great deal from it, the ball in which the fitting suggested for me was a B330 RX. I shall stick with this balls and see if the stats on the fitting machine match to how it is used on the course. A big thank you goes to Owen Davies for asking me along, I had a great time.
