Last weekend saw the play off for the Captain Pro Challenge Throughout the year the Captain and I play challenge matches against the members. Again this year has been great fun with some amazing golf being played by the gents and the matches played in a competitive way with amazing banter thanks to you all. This year's winner of the Captain / Professional Trophy which was donated by Doug Poole and myself were John Cardwell and David Rawson congratulations to you both adding your names to an illustrious list which now goes back 21 years . On the day John and David played some unbelievable golf with birdies flying in left right and centre.
On Sunday we had the end of year play off which was won by Mick Ford and Ian Robinson on countback from Tricky Scott and Colin Williams well done .
Sunday also provided me with a very rare opportunity to play with The Captain Ray, his son Stuart, and grandson Nick this was a privilege to play with three generations and one I will remember for a long time .
Finally I would like to thank Ray for a great year playing the matches, we played 16 matches and although not quite as good as the Ryder Cup the spirit and competitiveness was similar with all our oppos being up for the challenge . We had many laughs, holed putts, chip ins and the odd iffy but throughout the year the thing I will remember is the spirit in which the matches took place. Thanks Ray
