With Christmas less than 45 days away, it's time to start wrapping up warm on the golf course. We have just had the new Brampton Park Golf Club ProQuip Lined sweaters come in, which offer great warmth but not too big that it affects your performance on the course. These come in a grey, black, blue and of course the Brampton Park Green! We have these in the Pro Shop so please feel free to come in and look for yourself!
Not only do we offer new sweaters but we have had the arrival of IJP (Ian Poulter) Polo shirts, these would be great in the Winter as they offer enough room to have a base layer underneath and a nice cosy jumper on top. Ian Poulter, as we all know has great style and throws out a lot of colours. We have these shirts in a number of different colours from Pink, to purple and even red. At only £29.99 these aren't to be ignored! Please come in and look at all the new products we have in store, it's a great way to sort out any difficult Christmas presents you may have, or even just a little treat for yourself.
As I'm sure many of you are aware, Titleist are releasing the newest line in their woods, the 915. We have these in stock for fitting and for you to run your eyes across, come have a look at what is set to be one of the hottest new products around. With the high level of adjustability that these drivers offer, plus the many premium shaft options available, come in store and me or the team will get the perfect set up for your game.
We also have some brilliant products for stocking fillers as well, with Brampton Park bobble hats at just £12.50 and Titleist Bobble hats at £15. We also have winter gloves and mittens in stock, along with this we have a selection of umbrellas. Everything any golfer could need for this time of the year! Winter Bash - 5th November, 2014
In the first winter bash of the season there was some excellent scoring! The winner on the day was Dave Smith on count back over JDW Davies with 42 points. JDW went round with a gross total of 69 which is fantastic! In 3rd place with 40 points was Derek Holmes and in 4th was David Lindley with 38! Sadly the competition was a non-qualifier due to the work going on at the 3rd hole which has shortened it to a par 3. Congratulations to all the winners and keep up the good golf!
Xmas Spirit #2 8th November, 2014
In first place on count back with 38 points over Alan Wood and Mark White is Michael Mcfadyzean. In 4th with 37 on count back over Steve Lockert is Ron Cowper! There were 6 two's on the day as well which came to John Barringer, Barry Bates, Tim Richards, Jack Edwards, Ron Cowper and Harry Bailey. All of these two's winners have had £9.50 credited to their accounts in the pro shop! Congratulations to all the winners!
Xmas Spirit #3 9th November, 2014
In first place with a very impressive 44 points was Phill Slusar! In second with 42 was Gabriel Power over Mike Dive on count back. In 4th place with 40 points on count back over David Lindley is Alan Wood. There was 7 Two's on the day also, these were to the following people, Gabriel Power, John Newton, Dennis Lea, David Lindley, Simon Bottomley, John Cooper, Craig Goldsworthy, all of which have got £7.14 credited to their accounts in the pro shop! Well done to everyone that took part and a big congratulations to all the winners!

With 3 games played out of the series of 8, the Xmas Spirit is brewing nicely. Leading the way in the cumulative event is John Cooper with 115 points, closely followed by Alan Wood on 113 points and in third on 112 points the winner of the first event (a fine 46 points), John Yates. The winners of this weekend's events were Mike McFadyzean on Saturday with 38 points and on Sunday a new entrant to the series, Phil Slusar with a splendid 44 points. Leading the way for the ladies is Pam Lammiman with vital statistics over the first 3 events of 33, 33, 33 points. The series runs over 8 games with the next 2 being played on Saturday and Sunday 15th/16th November. As well as the series prizes (best 5 scores out of 8), there are also prizes for each weeks winner and other high point scorers which are presented on the afternoon of Sunday 14th December
Ladies' results for October:
Result: On Thursday 9th October we played Elton Furze at home scoring a decisive win 3 ½ - ½. The team was K. Dixon & D.Dale , T. Miller & S. Acton. A. Roberts & J. McWilliams, J. Miller & L. Olding. Well done team.
Result : On Monday 13th October, in the friendly match v Ramsey, Brampton won 3½- ½. This was the final ladies friendly fixture of the season. Ladies representing Brampton were, K. Dixon & J. Gilfillan, B. Davey & S Acton, J. McGlashan & L. Olding, T. Miller & D. Martin. A big thank you to all who have played during the year.
Friendly Matches; Overall this year the Ladies have won 8 matches, drawn 3 and lost 4, with 2 matches cancelled. Good results and well done Ladies. In the Mixed Matches we won 4, drew 1 and lost 2. Thank you to all who have played.
Ladies v Seniors, Friday 10th October. 24 Ladies played in this popular annual Match. Like last year it was a close contest with the ladies losing by a whisker, 369 - 367. This was a very sociable get together and a delicious lunch of chicken in a cream sauce followed by chocolate truffle torte was served. The trophy, a claret jug, was duly presented to the winning Captain, Martin Shirley.
Masters: Saturday 11th October. With an excellent net 68, Karen Cox was the early front runner and remained ahead of all the competitors. She becomes the third lady to win the Masters Trophy. Congratulations on a great achievement Karen. Also making history for the Ladies section was junior girl, Chloe Drewery who won the first Junior Order of Merit. Well done Chloe.
Lady Captain v Lady Vice-Captain: Tuesday 21st October. A hurricane was forecast but 28 ladies ventured out and enjoyed playing the competition over 11 holes. It was very windy but with only a quick shower our spirits were not dampened. The close result, 4-3, was a win for the Lady Captain's team.
Mixed Open: Thursday 23rd October. There were 48 entries and all the players appreciated a lovely day at Brampton including the popular half-way house goodies. Thank you to Linda Christian and her team. The winners were a team from Kilworth Springs, Lorna Morris and Graham Stretton on 40 points. There were three home pairs, with a winning score by Julie and Ray Miller of 37 points.
Men v Ladies: Sunday 26th October. 40 Competitors took part in this annual friendly but competitive challenge. Many of the results were close but unfortunately the Ladies did not have their best day and came second. We hope the outcome will be overturned next year.
Ladies v Juniors: Tuesday 28th October. With the beautiful autumn sunshine continuing the stage was set for a good competition. The junior team comprised talented low handicappers and very promising beginners who performed skilfully. The junior handicaps ranged from 7 to 49 so some ladies had to give lots of shots. The junior team were just pipped to the post, losing to the Ladies, 3½ - 4½.
