Lady Captain's Report
April Update
The Easter weekend was a lovely weekend with a lot of competitions on. All seemed fairly well subscribed.
Adam & Eve passed off well. The usual sit down meal was replaced with a gourmet BBQ cooked by Captain Chris Cuthbert. It was very well organised and those that partook seemed to enjoy.
The Major is sponsored by Debbie and Nick Wastling who presented the lovely Crystal prizes.
1st with 43 points were Steve and Sally Palmer.
2nd with 42 points were Ray and Julie Miller.
The Ladies Coronation Foursomes was contested with the results being
1st - Fay Allison and Cath Emery with 37 points
2nd - Kay Osborne and Ann Norman with 35 points
3rd - Yvonee Palfrey and Anne Gibb with 30 points.
This sees Fay and Cath go through to the regional finals.
We also had a mixed match versus Elton Furze. We fielded 8 pairs which is a good number but unfortunately we couldn't win all the games and ended up losing 5 -3. The wind must have been a factor in our loss as it was blowing a gale!
