Woodhall Spa Coaching Day
On Saturday the Scratch Squad and the junior squad headed off to Woodhall Spa for a day's coaching with myself on the Woodhall Spa short Game area and 18 holes on the world famous Hodgkin Course.
The plan was to meet for a start at 9am as a near two hour drive was on the cards for most people. So many departed at 7am ( It did not take Ian and Mick quite that long to get there!).
The morning session consisted of coaching and skills challenges followed by a well-earned lunch. It was back to the short game area in the early afternoon before we ventured out on the course around 3.30pm.
The day was one of my highlights of the year so far and I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank all the players for their effort, enthusiasm and great standard of golf they showed. I hope you managed to pick up a few ideas to help take your games to the next level. Thanks also to Steve Lockert and Jon Edwards the captains for tying it all together and a special mention to the parents who travelled with the juniors. I know you also enjoyed your games.
We finished the round in near darkness but everyone had beaming smiles on their faces.
Thanks again and look forward to doing it again next year.

Last Saturday 18th, I was invited as part of Brampton Park Scratch team to go to a training day held at Woodhall Spa. It was a great day, with short game coaching and skills tests in the morning and free practice early afternoon, I learnt a lot and gained some very helpful tips and technique from the coaching with Al and also from other Scratch team members.
Later on in the afternoon we played in groups of 4 round the Hotchkin Course, 2 players from the Scratch Team and 2 players from the junior's. I was teamed up with Owen Davies, Harry and Jack Edwards, we played pretty well as a team and helped each other out during the round on what was a tough golf course! I would just like to thank Steve Lockert the Scratch Team Captain for organising the day alongside Al and John Edwards the Junior Organiser! Let's hope for a great season from the Scratch team and from our junior team!
