Mens Wednesday 'W' - 3rd June 

In first place with a very good score of 41 points was Neil Pedlar, in 2nd place with 40 points was JDW Davies, in 3rd Place also on 40 points was Larry Barnes and in 4th with 39 points was Stu Entwistle. There was also 7 two's on the day, these came to Richard Scott, Larry Barnes x2, Stu Entwistle, JDW Davies x2 and Peter Gutteridge. £11.57 per two has been credited to their accounts in the pro shop! Well done to those who took part, and of course a big congratulations to the winners!

Captain's Driver - Saturday 6th June 

Congratulations to Dave Smith who came first with 5 points, in second place Dean Legg on 3 and in third place Alan Murray on 3, there were six two's winners and they went to Stuart Miller, Dennis Lea, Mark Edmondson, Mike Prince, Colin Allison and Simon Bell, Well done to all those worthy winners!

Captain's 4BBB - Sunday 7th June 

Congratulations to the winners! In 1st place with 44 points were Tom McNeil and Dan Stephens! In second place with 42 points Darren Hibberd and Steve Kesseler. Two's wins went to David Easter & Rob Barrett, David Rawson & Amanda Rawson, Dan Stephens & Tom McNeill, Ray Miller & Julie Miller, Greg Wills & Colin Williams, Mick Ford & Simon Earl, Harry Baily & Alan Wood, Cath Emery & John Davies, Pete Durham & Teresa Neeson.

Seniors Sturdy Trophy 

On Friday 5th June, 50 Seniors took part in the Sturdy Trophy. The winner was Bob Burgess with 42 points; second was Bob Wilson with 41; third, on countback from Simon Bottomley, was Mick Dean with 40 points.



Juniors

This week we have a report from the juniors on their season so far. 

Our league campaign got off to a slow start when we visited St.Neots, after some good play, particularly from Chloe Drewery, the team struggled and eventually lost 5 and half to a half. Dan Pedlar came from behind to half his match on 18 with Chloe narrowly losing out on the 18th.

Friendly Cup (No Category 1 or 2 Players) Greensomes Matchplay

We travelled to Newmarket expecting a close match, on arrival it became clear they could only field 5 players essentially handing us one of the three games. There were wins for Fraser Hutton and James Gould and Sam Sheldon & Jared Sharp, completing a 2 & 1 win putting us through to the Semi-final, Tom Sheldon and Sam Hindmarsh went down narrowly in the last match.

St.Ives Cup ( Foursomes knock-out ) 

We were looking forward to the visit of Newmarket, however on the Friday before the the match was due to be played I received a call from Newmarket's Junior Organiser informing me could not get a team to play the fixture and that they would concede the match, this puts us through to the Semi-final away at Ely City.

We took on Saffron Walden in our second league match at home on Sunday 7th June. The team played well, with convincing wins for Jared Sharp (6&4), Lewis Gabb (5&3), Sam Sheldon (4&3). Dan Pedlar was again involved in a very close match finally emerging as the winner on the 18th. There were close loses for Harry Edwards (3&1) with Patrick Forshaw losing his match on the last hole.

We have 2 more league matches this year, away to Saffron Walden and at home to St Neots along with the 2 semi-finals.



This Saturday and Sunday I will be heading over to Saffron Walden to play in this year's Cambridgeshire County Championships. The Format is 36 holes strokeplay on the Saturday and then the top 30 and ties are invited back on the Sunday to play a further more 36 holes, to find out the lowest returning Gross score for the 72 holes, and be crowned the 2015 County Champion. Saffron Walden is a tricky course where you have to think your way round, with an excellent layout and extremely fast and fiddly greens. I'm looking forward to getting started on Saturday morning!
