Greetings golfers,
As you receive this week's newsletter The Open Championship will be under way at St Andrews the home of golf. This is the week of the year we all look forward to and one as a youngster I remember for either missing school for a couple of days or getting out early ! Jordan Spieth is going for the grand slam, Tiger Woods is hoping to rekindle past memories and Oh how good would it be to see a European winner. The Open is also being broadcast on the BBC so gives a chance for non-golfers to see the great game and possibly decide to have a go. How many people do you know that might like a go? Now is the time to bring them along to Brampton and have a go on the range.
Club Championship - Saturday 11th & Sunday 12th July
Congratulations to James Reeson who this weekend retained his club championship trophy. James had rounds of 70 & 74 to win by 5 shots. Simon Burns came second on countback with the lowest gross on the second day of 71, to finish on a total of 149. Owen Davies also finished on 149 which landed him third position.
Division Two gross winner was Iain McDermott playing off a 10 handicap shooting rounds of 79 & 82 to finish in 7th place. Division 3 gross winner was Ian Moore playing off a handicap of 16 shooting 93 & 89. The lowest nett score was by James Ballentine who WAS playing off a handicap of 15 shot gross rounds of 85 & 79 to finish with 164 which resulted in a ninth place finish. Congratulations to all of the winners and we hope everybody enjoyed the two days.

Wednesday W - 8th July
In first place with 41 points was Jim McWilliams! Jim has been away from the game for a while and has still managed to get his game going and is looking in good shape! Well Done! In second place with 39 points was Dave Norman and in 3rd on countback over Gary Coates was Larry Barnes! There was also only 3 two's on the day, these came to Ron Cowper, Dave Norman and Larry Barnes! Each has been credited with £23 per two to their accounts in the pro shop! Well done to all the winners!
