Charity Day
Brampton Park Charity Day was held on Friday 17th July. Our chosen Charity was Cerebral Palsy and we had 132 people playing and many more organising and coordinating events. Our thanks to all those who helped out.
We were blessed with the weather as the sun followed us around. As they say "The sun shines on the righteous!". It was an AM/AM format with Nearest the pins on 4th, 7th, 12th and 15th. A nearest the Pig on the 16th and longest drive on the 8th and nearest the line on the 18th.
The winners were Kev Cartlidge, Kevin Hull, Duncan Scott and Ali Pykett! The course was in excellent condition and the catering very enjoyable.
The ticket draw was held. The first prize was a Brampton Park Membership, this was won by a lady called Lisa who was a guest of Mike Dunn's.
Finally it was on to the Auction. We were fortunate to have been donated many prizes from many sponsors so our thanks go to all of these, it is very much appreciated. The bidding was fast and furious with many bidding large sums (including £95.00 for a bag of potatoes!) in order to support the charity. The final amount raised is yet to be confirmed but it looks like it is in the region of £11,000.
Again we must thank everyone for their participation, for donating prizes or auction items and for all those involved in the organisation. It is not a simple thing to put together and takes months of coordination and management - our thanks to those that did all of that.
Regards,
Chris Cuthbert
