New Club Management Team
The Board has undertaken a review of the management structure and administration of our golf club following the departure of Mick O'Driscoll as General Manager and has worked to identify a structure which will most optimally support the Golf Club in responding to the challenges we currently face.
The response of the current management team has been first class since the departure of our General Manager and since his resignation the business operations and membership services have been handled diligently, carefully and thoroughly professionally.
In view of the very capable performance of the existing team and their abilities to manage the club, the Board has approved a proposal to form a new management team from within our existing key players; a team that has a strong ongoing commitment to the success of Brampton Park Golf Club and which is determined to take on the challenges ahead.
The new Management team is:
Director of Golf Services*
Alisdair Currie
Office Manager - reporting to Director of Golf Services
Kristina Breslin
Bar and Catering Manager - reporting to the Director of Golf Services
Sarah Morgan
Head of Greenkeeping and Building Operations
Nick Meehan
(* This role equates to the General Manager role as required by Rules 4.1 and 4.2 - as issued 7th February 2007)
The above team will be supported by the appointment of an Honorary Company Secretary - Alan Wood - who will manage the interface with our Landlord (Stonecheck Plc) in addition to the standard duties of a Company Secretary.
The provision by Alisdair of our Golf Club Professional services will not change and will continue to be delivered in the future via an independent contractual arrangement.
The success of our new management team will be very much enhanced by the knowledge that they have your full support so please give them your backing and encouragement - they will be working tirelessly on your behalf.
Martin Shirley
Chairman
September 2015
I am pleased to be offered this new role and am excited about helping move Brampton Park forward into the future (hopefully it will also help me to make a few more birdies when playing).

In first place on countback over JDW Davies on 40 points was Scott Hamilton, in 3rd place on countback over 3 other people on 39 points was Bevis Moynan! There were also 10 two's on the day, these came to Scott Hamilton x2 (one of which was on the par 4 11th!) ,Dave Smith, Bill Gourlay, Larry Barnes, Barry Bates, Keith Curr x2, Dennis Lea and Nick Pedlar, each have been credited with £4.50 per two to their accounts in the pro shop! Well done to everyone that took part!
Winter MOT on your game...
Come and speak to us in the Pro Shop about planning a tailor made package over winter to help improve your game.
Last Weekend Owen Davies, James Reeson and I went up to Durham to compete in the English Champions Club at Brancepth Castle, this is a very tricky parkland course with quick slopey greens and undulating fairways! The Champions Club is a 36 hole competition over 2 days with every score counting and being added together at the end of each round. After the first day we were sitting in a fairly good position at T13 and 13 over par, unfortunately the second round we struggled, the course was set up harder than the first day and seemed tricky for all the teams!
It was a good learning experience for me to play a course which offered many different elements in comparsion to one's round Cambridgeshire! We eventually finished 18th out of 32 teams at 34 over par, so all in all a pretty good performance that we can all be proud of. I'd like to thank the club and CAGU for sorting it all out for us, along with the other lads, Owen and James. And also to Steve Lockert who came up to support us all on the Sunday!
