Brampton Park Masters

At the weekend, we had the end of season event which was the Brampton Park Masters. 84 Qualifiers Tee'd it up to compete in the event that sees the winner eligible to entry for Life! 

The winner was Mark King with a fantastic score of 72 Gross and 66 nett. Prizes went down to 5th with several on 68 nett, but Scott Hamilton grabbed 5th, Julie Peacock 4th, Dan Stephens 3rd and with a nett 67, young Dan Pedlar 2nd. 

Well done to all of them. A meal followed with the usual end of year presentation for all of those who had qualified to play and their guests and some sponsors. 

Billie Leighton was one of the guests to present the prize to the winner of the Junior Player of the year. It was no surprise to most that this went to Scott Hamilton who has reduced his handicap from 9 to 3 over the year - a fantastic achievement. 

In the Men's section, Order of Merit over the year went to Peter Caller, a well merited and popular winner. 

The day and evening Meal was a huge success and my thanks go to all the Staff at Brampton Park for their efforts which made it a great day for all involved.

Midweek Medal - 30th September  

In first place with a nett 69 on count back over David King was Dave Smith! In 3rd place also on countback on a nett 70 over John Lindsey was Guy Radford. There were also only 3 two's on the day, two of which came to Larry Barnes and the other to Dave Smith, each have been credited with £15 per two on their accounts in the pro shop! Well done to all that took part!

Wednesday 'W' - 7th October 

In first place with 39 points was Tom Strand. In second place with 38 points was Dave Smith and third spot went to Sam Pedlar who got 37 points. There were only three 2's on the day, Roger Knight, Keith Curr and Neil Pedlar. Each have been credited with £19.66 to their accounts in the pro shop. Well done to everyone that took part in a blustery day at Brampton!

 

Last week I played in a Pro-Am at Spalding Golf Club . 

This was my first venture into the Pro-Am scene for a while and was met with a bit of trepidation and excitement as I was playing with one of the guys I coached while I was RAF coach. On the day I played fairly well apart from a couple of shockers (I am sure you all have experienced that) but the good news was my team of Mal off 5 Keith off 1 , Mark off 6 won the team event with a score of 17 under par ( best 2 of 4 to count on each hole ) so felt I contributed and enjoyed the walk up to collect the prizes . It was a great day and will be the start of playing more Pro-Ams so if anyone is interested in a day out please let me know.
